Objective:To investigate the repeatability for corneal thickness and corneal volume evaluated with Pentacam rotating Scheimpflug camera after clear cornea Phacoemulsification.
Method:Thirty two eyes of 32 subjects who had undergone clear cornea Phacoemulsification were assessed with the Pentacam. The mean of 3 consecutive measurements of corneal thickness and corneal volume was recorded. The repeatability was evaluated using intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC)and Cronbach's alpha.
Results:The central,diameter 2mm,diameter 4mm,diameter 6mm and diameter 8mm corneal thickness had a ICC of 98.4%,98.5%,98.2%,97.5%and 95.2%respectively.The ICC for diameter 3mm,diameter 5mm and diameter 7mm corneal volume was 97.9%,98.3%and 98.5%respectively.All the Cronbach's alphas were more than 99.0%.
Conclusion:Pentacam has a high degree of reliability for the corneal thickness and corneal volume after clear cornea Phacoemulsification. The Phacoemulsification did not affect the postoperative repeatability of the pachymeters.
