PURPOSE:To evaluate if ocular pulse amplitude(OPA)is associated with the IOP variability of ocular response analyzer(ORA).
METHODS:Sixty normal subjects were included. In one randomly selected eye, four serial measurements were obtained with ORA,which followed by OPA taken by dynamic contour tonometry. The ICC and CVw of IOPcc;IOPg;corneal hysteresis(CH)and corneal resistance factor(CRF)were calculated. The associations between IOP variability of ORA and age, refraction,K values,CCT,and OPA were evaluated with univariate and multivariate regression analyses.
RESULTS:The ICC of IOPg,IOPcc,CRF,and CH were 0.82,0.76,0.76 and 0.75,respectively.The CVw ranged between 7.7%and 11.8%.OPA was significantly associated with the variances of IOPg and IOPcc.Eyes with higher OPA had higher variability of IOP measurements. No association was found between the variability of ORA and age, refraction,K values, and CCT.
CONCLUSIONS:The IOP variability of ORA was only moderate.Eyes with large OPA were associated with high variability of IOPg and IOPcc.Taking an average of multiple repeated measurements is important for reliable measurement of ORA. |
